Turkey, Salsa Burgers
Salsa is the surprise ingredient in this recipe and it makes the burgers juicy and spicy.
(Makes 4)

Ingredients:
Burgers:
1 pound ground turkey
1/3 cup mild salsa
1 small carrot, peeled and grated
1 small or 1/2 large zucchini, grated
1 teaspoon salt
Black pepper to taste

Olive oil
4 hamburger buns
4 slices tomato
4 leaves lettuce
Condiments: mayonnaise ketchup, mustard, pickles

Directions:

  1. Prepare burgers: Combine the ingredients in a large bowl and divide the mixture into 4 equal portions.
  2. Fill a small bowl with cold water and wet the palms of hands.  Roll each portion into a ball and flatten
with the palm of your hand to form round hamburger patties, 1/2 inch thickness.  Rewet hands to stop
the meat sticking to your hands.
  3. Place burgers on a plate and drizzle lightly with olive oil.  Rub both sides to coat.
  4. Heat non stick skillet or grill pan over medium heat and cook burgers for 6 to 7 minutes each side or until fully cooked.
  5. Serve with toasted buns, tomato, lettuce and condiments.
