Supernatural Brownies

(Makes 24 x 2 inch)
These are probably the best brownies you have ever eaten - they are devilishly good!

Ingredients:
2 sticks butter , cut into inch dice
8 oz bittersweet chocolate, broken into small pieces
4 large eggs
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
2 tsp. vanilla essence
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup chopped walnuts, optional

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Grease and line a 13 x 9 inch baking pan with parchment paper or foil leaving an overhang on either side.

  3. Melt the butter and chocolate in a glass or metal bowl over a pot of simmering water.  Do not allow the
bottom of the bowl to touch the water.
Stir until melted and remove from heat.

  4. Whisk the eggs and sugars in a mixing bowl.

  5. Stir in the melted chocolate.

  6. Sift together the flour and salt, then stir into the mixture with walnuts if used, until no more flour can be seen.

  7. Pour into prepared pan and smooth with a spatula. Bake for 30 minutes or when a toothpick inserted into themiddle of the cake is no longer wet, but has crumbs sticking to it.  If the toothpick comes out clean,
    it is over cooked.

  8. Allow to cool and refrigerate for 1 hour.  Remove from pan.  Cut into 2 inch squares.
