  Garlic Toast
Keep a (sealed) tub of garlic butter in the fridge at all times, kids can have this tasty treat any time.
 
   Ingredients:
Garlic butter                   
4 garlic cloves
1/4 teaspoon salt

1 stick unsalted butter, softened
1 teaspoon olive oil
1 tablespoon Italian parsley, finely chopped

Sliced Italian, French or white bread


Directions:

  1. Mince and crush the garlic with the salt to a paste, you can use a mortar and pestle, or the back of a heavy knife on a chopping board.
  2. Add the garlic paste to the butter, olive oil and parsley.  Mix together until smooth.  May be stored in a sealed container in the fridge for up to 2 weeks.
  3. Spread the garlic butter onto slices of bread and toast in toaster oven or broiler until golden brown.
